My first trip to Sardinia was in October, a ridiculously warm October that felt like a personal invitation. Coming from the chilly embrace of my home country, the warmth, combined with the incredible food and breathtaking scenery, completely sealed the deal. Sardinia wasn’t just a beautiful place; it was magical.

As an island, it’s naturally blessed with thousands of beaches, each one unique. Picture this: tiny, secluded coves tucked between dramatic cliffs, and expansive, vibrant stretches of sand meeting impossibly azure waters. Some call it the “Hawaii of Europe,” and in the summer, it’s easy to see why. But the beauty doesn’t end there. For the adventurous, there’s a playground of activities: diving, sailing, kite-surfing, kayaking…the list goes on! And inland, the mountains rise up, creating landscapes straight out of a classic Western film (no surprise, many were actually shot here!). Even a preserved “Wild West” town exists for visitors to explore.

It wasn’t just the beaches or the mountains; it was also the island’s mysterious past, embodied in the ancient Nuraghe – fascinating Neolithic structures that dot the landscape. They spoke to me, somehow. This was it – my place. The decision to move was instantaneous.
Thankfully, my work is location-independent; as long as I have an internet connection, I can work from anywhere. Planning the move took time, a full year in fact, but it was time incredibly well spent. The wait was worth every moment. Next time, we’ll explore how I made the move happen and what I learned along the way. Stay tuned!
